Parsonage Pre-School Newsletter
We have all settled back into term now and most of our new starters have all begun, it is lovely to meet all our new families and we hope you enjoy being at Preschool. Our existing children are enjoying being the ‘older children’ and have been very busy. We have been exploring Harvest time, looking at different vegetables- feeling, tasting and printing with them! We have added real vegetables in to our home corner and there have been some lovely meals cooked. We have been looking at colour and especially enjoyed watching the colours mix together and change in water.
We also had a great time watching the Tall Tree Theatre company perform ‘Lily and the Baby Bird’ and enjoyed joining in!
We will soon be having fun finding out about Halloween, Divali and Bonfire Night exploring many creative techniques, looking at pumpkins and spiders while learning about keeping safe. We hope you will all enjoy celebrating these festivals with us.
The weather is definitely on the turn for Winter, as this happens please make sure that your child comes with suitable clothing such as coats, hats, gloves, welly boots and of course a named bag with a full change of clothes- we still play with water outside! If you do have waterproof trousers and coats (or all in ones) they are very useful to bring in. It can also be draughty in the rooms with the doors open so please make sure your child has layers to put on or take of as needed. We do have lovely Parsonage Preschool polo t-shirts and sweatshirts (see wall by drinks bottles) and talk to your keyworker if you would like some.
We all enjoy eating our lunch together at Preschool and do encourage and talk about healthy eating with the children. Can we remind parents to be aware of the amount of sugary foods in your lunch box, and recommend just one chocolate/ sweet item. Please can drinks bottles and lunch bags be named clearly. On a safety note can we also ask that grapes are cut in half lengthways, thank you.
Toys from Home
We know that children love to bring in toys from home to share with us. But we are unable to take responsibility for any lost or broken toys. Comforters are always welcome.
