Your child's development
Children are our purpose

We know a child's brain more than trebles in weight during the first two years of growth. We also understand that high self-esteem and rish sensory experiences are essential to develop and facilitate this growth.

We will ensure that your child enjoys a fulfilling and engaging experience supported by dedicated and well qualified staff who really understand children.

Learning Journeys and Tapestry

Every setting now has the online learning journey system called Tapestry, whereby a child's development is recorded online. Parents can access Tapestry at any time to see observations, their child's development and photographs.

All parents are given a log in so you can access your childs profile from anywhere and at any time. You can also request a password for other family members to view the profile.

We encourage parents to contribute by making comments or adding photographs. This can then be printed off to make a wonderful keepsake for your child.

We recognise that parents are the first and most important educators and influence on a child’s learning and development so it is vital that we work together to support your child at home and at Nursery. We value parent input on all aspects of the development journey.

We work to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which is the guiding body on child development. We ensure that key learning events are recorded and key targets are worked to as next steps in the child's development.

For the older children who are getting ready for school we have daily letters and sounds sessions to help prepare them for reading and writing, P.E. sessions to help them get used to dressing and undressing and body movement sessions for them to understand how their bodies engage with their environment and each other.

Pre-school children are encouraged to plan their own learning activities throughout the day, guided by their Key Worker.
